SOLIDARY ECOSYSTEMS
Solidary Ecosystems builds relationships and collaboration through the creation of a hybrid fellowship system that brings together artists, writers, scholars, and community members. This spoke is potentiated through interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration by a community of thinkers that meet throughout the year. It brings together scholars, artists, and writers.
ABOUT THE SPOKE
The Solidary Ecosystems brings scholars, artists, and community members together to think collaboratively about innovative initiatives that foreground groundbreaking approaches to reimagining Puerto Rican Studies. These ecosystems are sustained by Postdoctoral Fellows, Hybrid Fellows, and Hybrid Artists. The goal is not only to support individual projects, but also to strengthen the networks, solidarities, and intellectual ecosystems from which new questions and collaborations can emerge.

HYBRID FELLOWSHIPS
Hybrid Fellows will participate each year in the ecosystem virtually and will be on campus once a semester to present their work to the UW-Madison community at the end of the year symposium. Hybrid Artists will work in collaboration with campus interlocutors, share their work, and deliver a lecture to the broader public, as well as the academic community.
SOLIDARY ECO-SYSTEM SEED GRANTS
The Solidary Ecosystem will also grant Seed Grants for individuals or groups whose projects are relevant cultural, community, scholarly, educational, and/or artistic labor related to Puerto Rico, Puerto Ricans, and Puertoricaness. The awarded bodies will present an overview of what they’ve done at the Interrogating the Future of Puerto Rican Studies symposium.
