The Luisa Capetillo Cultural Series is bringing artists to engage in a talk and live music presentation by Puerto Rican percussionist and educator Beto Torrens and Bomba Soberao. The event will feature musicians and students from Bembé Drum & Dance, a Milwaukee-based cultural arts organization centered on Afro-Latino musical traditions!
Through conversation and live performance, the program will explore the history, rhythms, and communal practices of Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba through drumming, song, and dance.
